Sergio Strizzi: Portraits from the Set
Sergio Strizzi began his career as a young photojournalist.
In 1952, he moved into the film industry as a stills photographer. From then on he worked with Italy’s greatest directors: Antonioni, Blasetti, De Sica, Germi, Monicelli, Petri, Rosi and Soldati, as well as with many internationally famous directors such as Jospeh Losey, John Huston, Peter Yates and Terry Gilliam.
Thanks to his growing reputation, he was the stills photographer for a selection of the James Bond film series and in the mid-seventies, when Life magazine ran a feature article on Audrey Hepburn’s return to cinema, she personally requested Sergio Strizzi as the photographer for the job.
Late in his career Sergio worked with such greats as Benigni, Tornatore, Scola, and Liliana Cavani.
Sergio Strizzi is today considered to be one of cinematic still photography’s greatest talents.
